THE BIG DAY

Saturday 15 August 2009
5pm
Angasi Restaurant
Binalong Bay - Bay of Fires
North-East Tasmania

Our wedding will be a cocktail style function and will not include a formal sit down meal. Instead we have chosen to have wandering savory delights and antipasto which will be served throughout the evening.

We will not have a professional photographer on the day and would love it if you could please bring your cameras and take lots of photos. We will have a memory card reader there to make sharing your shots nice and easy.

There will be heaters at Angasi but Tasmania can be quite chilly in winter and Angasi over looks the bay, so please make sure you bring appropriately warm clothing.

We have booked a coach to transport our guests from and to St Helens. If you would like to catch the coach please contact us with your accommodation details asap.

Please be aware that only the Telstra network will have phone reception at the Bay of Fires.

The next day: We would like to invite you to a relaxed Sunday lunch at Tidal Waters Resort restaurant/bistro from 12.30ish if you will be in the St Helens Binalong Bay area. Tidal Waters is 1
Quail Street, St Helens and has lunches ranging from $15 - $25.

Tidal Waters is located at Georges Bay, set amidst eight acres of natural lagoons gardens. This 4 1/2 star resort offers a relaxing weekend escape or an extended break for travelers to Tasmania’s East Coast.

Bay of Fires Character Cottages

Bay of Fires Cottages are designed to suit the local environment and are in keeping with the heritage value of the Binalong Bay village.

Bed in the Treetops is a luxuriously appointed Bed & Breakfast hideaway nestled high on an 80 acre property at the Bay of Fires, situated on Tasmania’s beautiful North East Coast. Bed in the Treetops has been architecturally designed and is constructed using whole Celery Top pine logs and various other Tasmanian timbers, perched 160 metres above sea level, and enjoys spectacular sweeping views of Binalong Bay, Moulting Bay, Georges Bay, St Helens Island and the Southern Ocean. Bed in the Treetops offers a choice of two private, luxury open plan spa suites, and can accommodate up to 6 guests. Both suites adjoin the hosts’ residence at ground floor level, and each has its’ own private entry and sun deck. During August there is an off peak nightly tariff, so make sure you ask for a good deal.

TRAVELLING

Virgin Blue and Jet Star fly into Launceston. Binalong Bay is just over two hours drive from there via St Helens.

Virgin Blue, Qantas, Tiger and Jet Star fly to Hobart. Binalong Bay is approx. three and half hours north of Hobart via Orford and Bicheno with stunning views of the east coast along the way.

We recommend Virgin Blue and Qantas as the most reliable.

We will be catching the Spirit of Tasmania. This is a great option for anyone who is going to stay for more than just the weekend, as it will enable you to bring your car. The Spirit travels from Melbourne to Devonport overnight during August, departing Melbourne at about 8pm. From Devonport it is approximately three and a half hours drive east to Binalong Bay, but we recommend you take your time and stop off for yummy treats along the way (we recommend the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm in Elizabeth Town and D'Anvers at Latrobe) or even pop into Launceston overnight.
